Reverend Jeremiah Wright
For not shutting the hell up and allowing Barack Obama to repair the damage you've already done to his campaign so he can get elected and by that act alone begin to address so many of the problems in this country of which you have complained, Yer An Asshole.

Mike Mussina
For going to Japan at the beginning of the season and refusing to leave your room to do anything but play baseball games (and, of course, for not helping us win a World Series since you came to the Yankees), Yer An Asshole.
David Ortiz
For being a Red Sock (obviously) and for anticipating your own early season slump based on the fact that you had to go to Japan (poor baby) for the first few games, Yer An Asshole.
Hillary Clinton
For dumbing down the Democratic primary in order to smear your opponent, essentially saying if it can't be me, it can't be any Democrat, Yer An Asshole.
Sheldon Silver
For not having the courage to bring the congestion pricing plan to a vote and for generally ignoring the concerns of your constituents to protect your fiefdom in Albany, Yer An Asshole.

Maureen Dowd
Ah Maureen. Although we anticipate many of your colleagues in the journalism circus joining you on this page in the very near future, it gives us great pleasure to honor you with the first ever 'Yer An Asshole' award. Although we once enjoyed reading your column in The New York Times, lately we find your writing style to be coma-inducing. Your (not so) clever little symmetries are laughably predictable at this point. But what really offends us - and to be fair, you are not alone here - is your tendency to find controversy where there is none. Thus, your piece in today's Times picking up on the non-story of Obama's supposed elitism. Anyone with half a brain knows that Obama didn't mean what you and your colleagues would have him mean when he made his comment about so many Americans being bitter. And you, as someone with at least half a brain, knew precisely what he meant. But why let that get in the way of making a false argument (I'm Catholic and my brothers like guns and we're not bitter) to refute a point Obama didn't make in the first place. Obama's been consistent in his message from the start of his campaign. Can't you and your colleagues please stop trying to make the message and instead get back to the job of reporting it?
So, for your tired writing style and your intellectually dishonest coverage of Obama, we just wanted you to know that Yer An Asshole.
